CAUX RULES

 

Preamble

The principles are based on two ethical ideals: the Japanese kyosei (symbiosis) and the European respect for human dignity.

General rules

1. Responsibility in business: from responsibility to shareholders to responsibility to stakeholders.
2. The economic and social impact of business; towards innovation, justice, and global community.
3. Business conduct: moving beyond the letter of the law to the spirit of trust.
4. Respect for legal rules.
5. Supporting multilateral trade.
6. Respect for the natural environment.
7. Avoiding illegal activities.
