In 2021, CSD-ECO organized the inter-school competition “ECO-AEROSOL. Don’t Gas Our Earth.” Students in grades 4-8 of primary schools and high school students from the Łódź Voivodeship were invited to participate. They were tasked with creating a poster, comic book, or presentation on the segregation and/or recycling of aerosol cans and the environmental threats posed by unsorted pressurized can waste. The competition aimed to disseminate knowledge about waste segregation and recycling, increase environmental awareness among schoolchildren in promoting waste segregation, and develop children’s ecological imagination.
A six-person jury, led by Dr Anna Fligel, selected the winners of the competition as part of the ECO-AEROZOL educational campaign. We received over 50 compelling submissions, all of which were carefully analyzed across three categories: creativity, aesthetic value, and technical merit. The maximum possible score was 10. Submissions from secondary schools and those from primary schools (grades 4-8) were analyzed separately. The deliberations were lengthy, as all the submissions were so engaging.
We selected the following winners:
The best work among the works submitted by high school students was the excellent presentation by Julia Rusołowska – a second-year student from the 25th General Secondary School in Łódź.
Julia, we sincerely congratulate you!

As announced, we honored two more works among primary school students.
The first distinction went to Julia Zielińska from Primary School No. 36 in Łódź for her fantastic comic book poster.
Julka, great comic, congratulations!

We awarded the second distinction to Ignacy Gałązka, a fourth-grade student (!) of the M. Montessori Primary School “Twoja Szkoła” for a great drawing drawn with pencil crayons.
Ignacy, big congratulations!

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants, and congratulations to the principals and teachers for their very talented students.
We hope that after our educational campaign, you will become even more involved in saving the Earth.
